A meeting was held on August 30th 2010 which was attended by the Mayor of the Municipality of Bugojno with his associates and members of the BELLS movement (NGO’s Ekoelement - Bugojno and the Centre for Environment and Energy – Tuzla). Meeting was concluded by signing Memorandum of Understanding.
After the briefing of the national coordinator of BELLS movement in B&H, Sabina Jukan, on the implementation of REA projects and goals of the BELLS Movement, Mayor has confirmed the importance of environmental issues as one of Europe's priorities and with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding Bugojno joined the BELLS movement, and thus provided support for further activities. By signing this Memorandum Bugojno municipality agrees to work on: Improvement of inter-sector cooperation on the basis of the current situation at the national level and advocating in the Western Balkans for environment to become a priority in the agendas of decision-makers; Increasing of knowledge and informing citizens and other stakeholders in the region of the Western Balkans on environmental values and standards; Improvement of regional cooperation, better information flow and exchange of experience in environmental policy in the region of Western Balkans.
