Third work meeting of Green Parliamentary group of B&H was held

In parliament of B&H the third work meeting of the Green Parliamentary Group (ZPG) was held in which, apart from members and organizers, Advisor to the Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations (MoFTER), representatives of the Department of Environmental Protection in MoFTER and legal adviser of USAID’s project of strengthening of parliament in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated.

The aim of the meeting was to provide support to the Law on the Protection of Environment in B&H. GPG supports previous activities on drafting the Law on the Protection of Environment in B&H and believes that it is necessary to, as quickly as possible, adopt this Act. It is also concluded that development and adoption of the Framework Law on environment leads to execution of liability from running the European partnership. It is necessary to urgently agree on disputed sections of the Law and, as soon as possible, to continue the procedure for the adoption of the Law. It was agreed that activities should be organized so that the Draft along with supporting documents is sent to the entities and Brcko District on review to August 15^th 2010, and that all interested parties are free to lobby through meetings, interviews, personal contacts to get more urgent feedback from the entities and Brcko DC so the law is found in September 2010 session of the Council of Ministers and then in Parliament of B&H, in this convocation.
