6th Regional Bells Movement Meeting

Members of the BELLS movement held a sixth regular meeting in the period from 6th – 9th September 2010. On this occasion, the results of previous period and positive experiences exchanged, and the plans for the future has been presented.

It was agreed that conferences in all six territories will be held during the month of October, and onferences will be called the EU - Environmental values and standards. Further stage of BELLS movement's media campaign, and final stage of signing a petition to encourage regional cooperation in the field of environmental protection are also agreeded.

One of the activities conducted in the framework of the sixth BELLS movement regional meeting, was a visit to the local self-government Strpce municipality. In the name of the Bells movement all coordinators of Bells offices was attended, and in front of Štrpce, Dejan Mrđinac, chairman of the Municipal Assembly and Hamdi Aliu, Vice President of the Municipal Assembly, who is also the BELLS movement member.

At the meeting potentials of Štrpce Municipality were presented, and was discussed about the problems that are common to the whole Western Balkan region and ways to overcome them.

An agreement was reached about the active participation of BELLS movement in the future development of the municipality, as well as further steps in regional cooperation.
