BELLS movement has organized the six territorialconferences, during the month of October, in orderto present the achievements of the movement in thelast 19 months, both the local and territorial level,and encourage discussion on the environment andto point main challenges that BELLS movementfaces at the local level. All six conferences have beenheld under the joint name: The EU Standards In TheEnvironmental Field.

On April 29, National Coordinator held a meeting with the Mayor of Korça, Mr. Niko Peleshi, who from the beginning has been one of the main supporters of the National Environmental Coalition.

International Earth Day, April 22 to 23, 2010, was an event that was attended with much interest by the National Coordinator, who took part and presented BELLS standards and REA project, in two of the main activities that were organized on this occasion in Tirana.

On April 8, National Coordinator met with the Mayor of Orikum Mr. Kanan Braho, and with some of City Council members and its selected staff, to introduce the standards of BELLS and REA project.

The REA National Coordinator (NC) has met with several Projects and Organizations working in the area of environment to identify environmental policy related issues and bring those into subject of discussion for NEC.

On February 17, 2010, the Urban Research Institute organized the second National Roundtable for the Establishment of the National Environmental Coalition in Albania. The activity was carried out under the framework of REA and BELLS movement in Albanian.

The same day following the Press Conference, URI organized and carried-out a kick off meeting for the establishment of the National Coalition as part of the REA activities in the country.

As scheduled and agreed, simultaneously with other regional partners, a press conference was held on December 7, 2009 at 12:00 pm, at Tirana International Hotel in Tirana. At this conference, Bells movement was represented with speeches and messages that were released from Mr. Edlir Vokopola, REA National Coordinator, Mr. Van Den Dool, the Ambassador of Netherlands Kingdom in Tirana, Mr. Jemin Gjana, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Economic Productions, Trade and Environment, and Mr. Pellumb Abeshi, General Secretary of the Ministry of Environment. The press conference was attended and supported by other participants including, other member of the parliament, and government representatives, local government representatives, and civil society and donor organizations.
